One online vendor complained to me recently about not getting enough customers and wasn’t selling enough.
My question was “The customers you have, how did you get them?” …Need I say more?
She had no defined way of getting customers, it was simply WhatsApp status and Insha Allah.
While WhatsApp might be a good place to sell, you must understand that just posting on your status, IG or spamming random people is not a strategy but a recipe for low sales and disappointment.
YOU NEED A SALES FUNNEL and I’ll tell you why.
First, a sales funnel is simply the process through which you find, qualify and sell your product/service to buyers. In other words, it is the journey you walk your customers through before they eventually make a buying decision.
So let’s talk about why you need one.
A sales funnel will save you the headache this online vendor came to me with. With a sales funnel done well, you are assured of a consistent flow of customers you will buy from you.
A good sales funnel helps you attract the the right kind of people who want what you offer, willing and able to pay the price for the solutions you offer.
Often time, sales is never instant. Customers need to think and trust you enough to give you their hard earned money. A good sales funnel helps you built that trust.
You have a higher chance of selling again to someone who has bought from you in the past than selling to an entirely new customer. In other words, customer retention is key for business success. A sale funnel does that effectively.
For me, the biggest reason you should have a working sales funnel is to increase the lifetime value you give a customer. In this case, you’re giving more than just your product or service. You are consistently giving value such that you don’t have customers but praise singer and fans.
