KNOW THE RULES!
One of the wonders for which Jesus was famous in his time was that of walking on water. Matthew chapter 14 tells us more.
In that encounter, Jesus alone didn’t walk, he bidded Peter to come walk on water too and Peter joined. The story tells us that Peter walked on water for a while and began to sink when he became afraid. (he lost touch with the rules).
Caveat: This post isn’t about the Bible, Jesus or Christianity. Stay with me till the end.
In life, there are basic rules for which things work. Irrespective of who applies them, the rule/principle remains and work effectively.
One of such rules is that whatsoever you sow, you will reap. Whether rich or poor, young or old, tall or short, black or white, male or female, believer or pagan, when a man sows cassava, he cannot but reap cassava. Even if the soil upon which he plants is the best in the world, the harvest remains the same.
Again, maybe until you get out of planet earth I can’t tell but as far as earth is concerned, the law of gravity tells us that an object thrown up must surely come down. (Pardon my knowledge of Physics). The point I’m making basically is that there are rules that govern the operating of the world that do not change irrespective of who applies what.
Back to the Jesus story.
At the time, the principle by which Jesus was walking on water was the principle of faith. So whether Peter was the Messiah or not, obeying the same principle meant that he could walk on water too. We find that immediately he quavered and lost touch with the principle, he began to sink.
As you walk this new week, if all you get is the understanding that there are rules that drive result-driven endeavors, you’ll achieve more.
There are rules/principles that naturally allow for business prosperity irrespective of who is applying, there are rules that drive successful relationships, there are rules that assures financial prosperity, rules that guide parenting etc. When you FIND, UNDERSTAND and APPLY those rules, result in certain.
Pay attention to these three things:
- FIND the rule/principle that naturally allow something to happen.
- UNDERSTAND how the rule(s) work…the conditions necessary for result.
- APPLY the rule as honest as possible.
A wise man once said “the secret to walking on water is knowing where the stones are”.
