I learnt a financial lesson last week I think you should know about. Maybe you already know about it but I’ll share anyway.
I’ve come to understand that many of us like quick wins and a public perception of success especially business owners who quickly want to show off and tell others how they are succeeding in business. The situation has even worsened with Instagram and many archaic teaching about branding and brand perception.
You still don’t get my point? Let me make you understand.
Many business owners make a few bucks and they not only rush to celebrate, they begin acquiring what their business do not necessarily need. They’ll rather acquire new gadgets than invest in paid ads. They’d rather rent an office space they do not need than invest in trainings.
That profit you spend on frivolities are the babies of your business that need proper nurturing so they can grow.
While it might also be important to celebrate your small wins and tell your brand story, you must also learn not to eat the babies of your business. Invest and reinvest, acquire things necessary for growth and watch those babies birth new ones.
So, IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD TWO, YOU CANNOT AFFORD ONE. Think about this whenever you want to acquire something for your business. Except it is outrightly necessary for day to day running of your business, if you can’t afford to buy two, then you can’t afford to buy one.
Peace, Love and Cold Zobo.
