Last week I heard my phone ring without ringing!
Wondering how? Let me explain.
I had got home to retire into the night after a long day of work. As I laid quietly on my bed treating myself to some radio time and waiting for sleep to catch up with me, I heard my phone ring, I checked and there was no one at the other end.
I continued enjoying N6 and Joyce’s conversation just for me to hear my phone ring again, I checked and behold my phone was laying silent. I began to consciously pay attention to my phone and as I did, I heard my ringtone even louder. At this point, I was beginning to suspect my village people, I guess they were testing their new communication gadgets.
Just before picking my Bible to cast and bind like an average Nigerian would, it occurred to me that although I was conscious, my mind had decided to play games with me. My mind had decided to magnify my ringtone in my head that I kept hearing it though my phone wasn’t ringing. My perception was becoming a reality.
The mind is one unique creation of God that can control a man’s life and that’s why the Bible warns that you guide it with all diligence. When you have perception about a thing or situation, whether real or unreal, whether negative or positive, your mind is capable of magnifying it such that your perception begin to play out as though it was real to start with. It is therefore in your capacity that you guide your perceptions to always see and think the positive so that when your mind chooses to magnify, you’re not suffering from it.
What you perceive as real is often more real than reality itself, think about the many things you thought were real for a long time only to find how unreal they were, think about the many antics of your mind, think about déjà vu, think about those dark nights you were scared of your own scarf or tie thinking it was a snake. Your mind is powerful and can magnify about anything you think and bring them into reality.
As you walk this new week, “whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things”.
Peace, Love and Cold Zobo.
