ARE CUSTOMERS ALWAYS RIGHT?

This catch-phrase or sentence (to be politically correct) is as old as the act of business/buying and selling itself.

We’ve come to ask ourselves over time as business owners if truly customers are always right.

Especially if you meet those ones who were commissioned and specially annointed by your village people, you’ll question everything you’ve learnt about customers and being right all the time.

I think I met one of those last week, hence, my question.

I currently run a commission modeled business alongside some friends  and we had this nightmare of a customer last week. Chai! The thing tire me.
She wanted us to change company policy to favour her so she could increase her earning. We had politely turned her down and explained our decision but she wouldn’t have any of it. She had some hundreds of thousands with her she wasn’t willing to remit until we give in to her request. She literally would have bossed us into submission.

My friend had to raise his voice (by an octave maybe🤣) before she calmed down and listened to our superior arguement. Madam said “Aha! We are not fighting na”

She eventually gave in but it took some polite raising of voice…lol.

I bet you must have met customers like this, they always want discount even on discounted products,  they always want to bend rules, some will even blackmail you into submission.

How do you deal with them? What’s your experience with customers been like? Are customers always right?
