Sometimes last year, I was in a mentoring session with Bankole Williams (if you do not know him, google is your friend).
My take away from that session was simple; “Pressure has a pulling and pushing effect”- Bankole Williams. I realised I had been pushing myself too hard that my energy had become negatively fueled. I thought I was being dogged but really, I was just mounting undue pressure on myself and that had made my energy work against me. I made a resolve not to do that to myself again and I consciously kept my resolve.
You see, sometimes, what we actually need is “…a lamp to our feet” then “…a light to our path” will appear such that we can see just as far as we are moving at the moment. When you want to drive from Lagos to Ibadan, you necessarily do not have to see the total road network before you start your car engine. You just might be able to see as far as the end of your street and you trust that as you move forward the route becomes clearer.
It’s okay not to see the whole of Lagos-Ibadan expressway before you start driving, just start driving, navigate and follow your google map (if you do not know the route).
Hey! It’s okay not to have your life all figured out from the day of birth to the day of death. You know what? Nobody really have their lives all figured out though it may seem they have a perfect life.
Just take a step at a time, appreciate and pride in those tiny steps of yours and enjoy the process; emphasis on ENJOY THE PROCESS!
PS: this not to excuse doggedness and consistency.
Peace, Love and Cold Zobo.
